Differentiation is the Language of Belonging.
For nearly two decades I have taught across cultures and languages in international IB classrooms, most of them as a secondary Foreign Language Specialist. As an EAL Coordinator, I have sat beside the student who understands the lesson but not the language it arrived in. And I have watched good teachers run out of hours long before they run out of care.
That is the work behind everything I make. My book, The Differentiation Trap: From Framework to Belonging, argues that differentiation was never really about worksheets or levels. It is about whether a child feels worth investing in. My article for ECIS put it in a single line: differentiation is the language of belonging.
Educator Companion™ grew out of the same conviction. In the age of AI, the most irreplaceable thing a teacher can do is make a student feel worth investing in. So I built a platform that handles the paperwork and frees the teacher to carry the child.
A philosophy first. The tools came after.
AI carries the paperwork. The teacher carries the child.
